and hot tub questions

Where should the hot tub go?

We have found that it's best to place your hot tub slightly off center in your yard within 10-feet of whatever door to your house you'll use most frequently when you're going to or leaving your hot tub. It could be the back door, or a door to the deck, or the door to your master bedroom.

That makes it easier to get to and from all year long and helps reduce exposure to wind so you can get maximum enjoyment from your soak.

Beachcomber makes this a simple process by sending a representative to your home for consultation. We will bring a template outline of the exact model you have chosen so you can “see” where the tub will fit best in your yard before you make your final decision.

What else do I need to consider when choosing the location for my tub?

Zoning/City By-Laws
Be certain that your installation will meet all city by-laws and local safety codes especially if you are planning a gazebo or other enclosure around your tub.

Privacy
In most places in Canada, the tress lose their leaves in the winter. Bare trees don’t provide much privacy. Evergreens may be a better choice. Think of your hot tub's surroundings during all seasons to determine your best privacy options.

What view do you want to see from your hot tub?
Think about the direction you will be facing when sitting in your hot tub. Do you want to watch the sun set?  Is there something in your yard or your neighbour’s yard you want to see? Is there something in your yard or your neighbour’s yard that you don’t want to be looking at?

Safety
Do not place your hot tub within 10 feet (3m) of overhead power lines.

Make It easy To Keep your Hot tub Clean
Check the location of trees to see if wind or rain will sweep debris into your tub. Consider concrete or interlock stone walkway to your tub to prevent grass and dirt from being tracked in when people walk across the lawn.

Allow for service access
Many people choose to install their tub into a deck or build a privacy barrier around it. You need to remember to allow for access for service. If you need service, a technician may need to remove the hot tub side panel, or access it from underneath.  When you are designing a special place for your tub make sure the hot tub can be moved or lifted from the ground in case of service requirements.
